Navy Standards Program Information
The Navy M&S Standards Program supports the Department and the Fleet by improving Naval capabilities in the areas of analysis, training and acquisition through modeling and simulation (M&S) standards.
The mission is to advance the Navy's development and application of M&S and data by identifying, coordinating, influencing and promoting a common set of standards that are: endorsed by the proper authorities; widely accepted by the community, both technically and socially; and easier to use than to deviate from.
The objectives are to ensure that appropriate M&S standards are available when needed for Navy M&S development, acquisition, deployment, and life-cycle support; that the necessary infrastructure is present and applied to the DoD M&S Standards Process; and a strategy is identified and established for achieving future Navy M&S Standards evolution.
The Navy M&S Standards Program continues to evolve to address Community Needs and meet the Navy M&S Standards Mission and Vision. Activities include: the identification, review and resolution of community M&S Standards needs; the execution of the DoD Common M&S Standards Process; the transition to the new Standards Vetting Tool (SVT); the strengthening relationships with Government and Industry M&S programs; and continuing Cross-Service Collaboration and Coordination.
